Started:
Nigel started climbing more for the social aspect, but over time it has became an obsession.

Preferred climbs:
Nigel boulders mostly at home in Yorkshire and he tries to get to Font once a year. He loves discovering new un-climbed problems preferably hard highballs, cleaning them up and climbing them.

From his climbing achievements he appreciates most:
He will probably never forget Pebbledash font 8a /(E7/8 7a) - a major Yorkshire boulder problem and project, which had been tried by many climbers over a 15 year period. He had been trying it for around 18 months and had other climbers racing him for the first assent. He got there first and it was a fantastic achievement which has yet to be repeated.

Training:
Nigel Poustie has own board in his cellar, so he trains down there once a week and goes to The City Bloc (a local wall) to campus once a week.

Diet:
Nigel eats healthy balanced diet and uses carbohydrate and protein drinks for faster recovery.

Future plans:
He and his partner are going to have their second child, so to continue to be a good Dad is Nigel´s main role. And regarding climbing, he has unfinished projects from last season, which he hopes to get done.

Nigel about climbing:
"I am very motivated to keep improving and climb more hard problems. It needs Commitment, Focus, Dedication and a continual Drive it improve. It gives me an immense satisfaction when I achieve my goals. At the top of this, thanks to climbing I can get to amazing places and meet interesting people who share the same obsession."

Hobbies and interests besides climbing:
Children and family take up a lot of his time, but he also brews beer, which he hopes in the future to make a living out of.
