Nigel Poustie

Nigel is keen and strong boulderer from the UK. Many of his boulders are mentally and technically top-demanding. One example for all. Pebble Dash in Yorkshire, 8A Fb high-ball (9m high) slab.

1) When did you start climbing?
10 years ago in my last year of school, I was 17.

2) Who (what) led you to your first step in to climbing?
It was my friend at school, his dad climbed so we'd go out with him and his Friends seconding routes until I got my driving licence and then I really discovered bouldering!

3) What does climbing mean to you and your lifestyle?
Climbing means everything! I only work 3 days a week, so that I commit everything to climbing, I have a climbing wall in my (small) house. Thankfully my girlfriend is also a climber so that helps!

4) What was your most exciting climbing situation?
When you've found a project,  you've worked the problem and you begin to realise you can climb that piece of rock. That's exciting!

5) Favourite climbing sends?
My new problems Pebble Dash and Dialectics were a realisation of a lot of hard work!
But Ia Super Prestat, At Bas Cuvier and Alta, Isatis, were amazing.

6) What is your job now?
I'm a Support worker for adults with learning difficulties (Care work)

7) Your location?
Leeds, Yorkshire. UK.

8) What the most valued product of the Ocun kit for you?
The Dominator pad. I do a lot of highball climbing so that great! The liquid chalk is also useful.
