Jan Chvála
Jan is considered to be one of the most talented climbers in the Czech Republic and although he doesn´t climb for a long time, he already climbed 10- routes and 7B+ boulders. As a former ice hockey player and gymnast, Jan is well physically trained and thanks to frequent climbing with Czech Junior National Team, he is expected to get better and better.
1) When did you start climbing?
My first climbing steps were in the year of 2003.
2) What (who) led you to first climbing steps?
My cousin started to climb and I definitely couldn´t have stand step behind:-).
3) What does climbing mean for you and your lifestyle?
In the first line is climbing fun for me.
4) What was your most exciting climbing situation?
I can´t forget for climbing journeys with Czech junior national team:-)
5) Favourite climbing sends?
The most valuable and beautiful route I´ve ever done is Hormon Buranin, 10-. It´s all crimpy with crux at the top. At the competition scene I finished 3rd in Czech bouldering cup in Ostrava and 10th in EYC in Warszava, both 2007.
6) What is your job now?
Student.
7) Your location?
I live in a small town of Polička.
8) What is the most valued product of Ocun kit for you?
Twist harness.
9) Why?
Because the most important thing for me is comfort and Twist provides me exactly what I want.
