Andreas Mölk

Born: 1983
Lives: Kaltenbach v Zillertalu, Rakousko
Climbing since: cca 1995

Started:
Hendrik Binder, one of the first and biggest Zillertal climbing locals, led his first climbing steps. From the beginning it was more leads. The guys, who he began with, were interested more in sport climbing. Later Andreas found more pleasure in bouldering, which like he says, comes much more natural to him.

Preferred climbs:

Bouldering area in Tuzgle - Argentina is recently his favourite. He loves traveling and exploring new areas.

From his climbing achievements, he appreciates most:
Recently, he enjoys most bouldering in Argentina. Difficulty of his first climbs is something, what does not address him. Andreas has a special opinion on this theme.  Classification as such, he considers to be something too subjective, about which then the climbers lead just pointless debates. In fact it is so simple - either you do it or you do not.

Training:
Andreas Mölk trains all the time actually, outside - if it is not raining or simply if the weather makes it possible. He exercises on campus, which he "likes very much".  (The problem is, that with Andreas you sometimes do not know, when he is joking and when he is serious.)

Diet:
No special programs.

Future plans:
Andreas, as it seams, does not plan too much. He does his best to enjoy the life. He sais, that perhaps the next year he might move to Spain, give up on work, just climb, lie on the beach... (jokes again!) In any case, lot of climbing and the rest depends on circumstances.

Climbing equipment:
Crash pads from Ocun - Dramtime, Dominator, Quack

Andreas Mölk about climbing:
"There are so many different options, that the climbing offers, which fascinates me. You can choose from a lot of disciplines - bouldering, sport climbing with a rope, alpin climbing, technical climbing - all still climbing. Or even how many different styles of climbing - static, dynamic, power, technical. It is creative, you have always something to discover. And you are absolutely independent. You can do this sport everywhere in the world, in every season, it can do everybody regardless of their religion or worldview. This is something exciting."

Hobbies and interests besides climbing:
Reading, writing, swimming, running
