Andrea Pavlincova was awarded a bronze medal at World Yout Championship 2010

Andrea Pavlincova from Rock Pillars a Ocún climbing team participated this year in World Youth Championship this year.  For Andrea, it was just another portion of experience with such a big competition and it must be said that she made it great.

In "Girls B" (14-15 years), 62 competitors participated, 26 from them advanced to semifinal and 8 to finals. The competition in difficulty climbing was divided into three days. The first qualification was on Thursday. After some nerves from the beginning, Andy reached the top. On Friday, the 2nd qualification followed. Andy was not very fine and she did not reached for a better postion than 23rd place because of her mistake in the route. In sum of both qualifications, she advanced to the semifinals from 15th place.

On Saturday after about four hours in isolation, Andy started her semifinal route. After a very good performance and just a small mistake in the overhang, she ocupied 5th place and went to finals. She made her final route very well up to the ceiling, where she could not keep her feet and thereby she was ranked 2nd in standings. Just one plus she needed for the better place. She could just wait for the results of the other competitors. Just one of them climbed to the same point as Andy, so it meant 3rd place for Andrea, great joy and a good reason to celebrate. So the Czech female climber could be seen among the winners of World Youth Championship after some years now.
